Senior Assistant Manager, HR Partnering

This position is responsible for building strong partnerships with senior leaders and the HR Centres of Excellence (COE) teams to develop and execute People Strategies.
The HR Business Partnering team provides close support to stakeholders in three clusters: Schools/Colleges, Administrative, and Research. All HR Business Partners report to a Cluster Head of the HR Business Partnering Team, and may have a secondary reporting line to the School Chair/Pan-University Research Centres.
Main Responsibilities:
- Establish strategic partnerships with business units to drive organizational effectiveness through HR programmes and initiatives.
- IDentify gaps and opportunities to minimize people-related risks and influence solutions/outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on HR policies and procedures, including employment legislation, talent management, performance management, recruitment, manpower planning, rewards strategies, and employee engagement.
- Determine hiring requirements of business units and collaborate with NTU's Shared Services team on timely talent acquisition and staff appointments.
- Serve as a facilitator and advisor to senior leaders on industrial relations, employee grievances, conduct, and discipline matters.
- Advise stakeholders on policy changes and collaborate with senior leaders and functional HR COE to drive HR initiatives such as manpower planning, budget planning, employee engagement surveys, people development programs, change management plans, and performance management.
- Supervise a small team of HR professionals, depending on the deployment of units supported by the HR Business Partner.
- Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, preferably in a HR Business Partnering role.
- Strong knowledge of Employment Act and Labour Laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability according to changing needs and priorities.
- Collaborative and comfortable working in a matrix structure with multiple priorities.
- Resourceful and able to drive changes independently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within and across the HR function.
This role offers a 3-year contract with full benefits, with potential conversion to a permanent appointment subject to good work performance and University guidelines. Appointment titles will be commensurate with candidate's prior work experiences.
