In this role, you will be a strategic HR advisor who buildsstrong partnerships with the senior leaders and the HR Centres ofExcellence (COE) teams to develop and execute the PeopleStrategies.

Our HR Business Partnering team isstructured to offer our stakeholders close support in threeclusters - namely the Schools/Colleges, Administrative and Researchclusters. All HR Business Partners report to Cluster Head of the HRBusiness Partnering Team and depending on the cluster which you areassessed suitable for, you may have a secondary reporting line tothe School Chair/ Pan-University ResearchCentres.

Responsibilities:
  • Establishstrong partnership with the business units to drive organizationaleffectiveness while implementing HR programmes andinitiatives
  • Actively identify gaps andopportunities where people-related risks can be minimized andinfluence solutions/outcomes
  • Provide advice onHR policies and procedures including but not limited to thefollowing areas - employment legislation, talent management,performance management, recruitment, manpower planning, rewardsstrategies and employee engagement;
  • Establishclear understanding of the hiring requirements of the BusinessUnits and work closely with NTU's Shared Services team on thehiring of talents and appointment/re-appointment of staff on atimely basis.
  • Be a facilitator and HR advisorto senior leaders in managing matters pertaining to industrialrelations, employee grievances, conduct anddiscipline.
  • Provide advice to stakeholders onpolicy changes, collaborate with senior leaders and functional HRCentre of Excellence to drive all HR initiatives such as manpowerplanning and projection, budget planning, employee engagementsurveys, people development programs, change management plans,performance management etc.
  • Depending on theeventual deployment of units which the HR Business Partner willsupport, he/she may be required to supervise a small team of HRprofessionals.


Requirements:
  • Degreewith at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the HumanResources function, preferably in a HR Business Partneringrole.
  • Good Knowledge of Employment Act andLabour Laws
  • Excellent communications andinterpersonal skills with strong ability to engage and influencestakeholders at various levels
  • Demonstratesflexibility and adaptability according to changing needs andpriorities
  • Collaborative and is comfortableworking in a matrix structure with multiplepriorities
  • Resourceful and possess stronginitiative to drive changes
  • Ability to workindependently as well as be active team members within and acrossthe HR team.


Please notethat successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract withfull benefits at the first instance. You can look forwardconversion into a permanent appointment, subject to candidate'sgood work performance and the University's prevailing guidelines.Appointment titles (i.e. Assistant Manager/ Manager/ AssistantDirector etc) offered will commensurate with candidate's prior workexperiences.
