About the Role

This graduate scheme is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and experience to thrive in the dynamic world of commercial shipping. Over a period of approximately 18-24 months, you'll gain a well-rounded understanding of the industry, develop technical expertise, and learn the ropes of client success management.

You'll gain unparalleled exposure to a huge amount of international shipping companies, both in APAC and the Middle East. The program is divided into stages, providing a structured learning journey with hands-on experience.

Program Structure

The graduate scheme will be managed by the SVP of Sales, and the day-to-day supervision will rotate across the various teams involved. You'll embark on a nine-month rotational program, embedded within three distinct roles, providing a deeper understanding of all aspects of Signal's commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stage 1: Academies and Client Success
    • Gain a foundational understanding of the commercial shipping industry through our Tanker Chartering Academy
    • Learn about Signal's product offerings through our Product Rotation Academy
    • Develop strong commercial acumen through our Tech Sales Academy
    • Immerse yourself in a fast-paced client success environment, directly addressing client inquiries across all aspects of Signal Group's products
  • Stage 2: API Tech Sales
    • Work alongside our API technical team to leverage Python SDKs and SQL to create valuable assets
    • Develop case studies showcasing the power of Signal's APIs in tackling real-world challenges in the shipping industry
  • Stage 3: Sales Officer Role
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities through research and outreach
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients
    • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value of our software solutions
    • Negotiate and close sales deals to achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Stage 4: Customer Success Officer Role
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring their satisfaction and success with our software solutions
    • Understand client needs and objectives to provide tailored support and recommendations
    • Monitor and analyze customer usage and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and upsell opportunities
Requirements
  • A good Diploma/University degree in maritime studies, business, or a related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in a relevant industry, fresh graduates with no experience are welcome to apply
  • Proficiency in using software, a data-driven mindset
  • Commercial awareness of the maritime industry
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, strong team player
  • Adaptable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Geographically mobile and willingness to travel
  • Business fluency in written and oral English. Any other language a strong plus
