AWS offers 15+ purpose-built managed database services including relational, key-value, document, in-memory, graph, time series, wide column, and ledger databases.

As a specialist, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and assist deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon’s platform within the digital native, SMB, and start-up communities, with specific focus on Database services. Your responsibilities will include helping to define key market segments and/or workloads to target, facilitating relationships with customers and partners to help establish new opportunities in those markets while supporting stakeholders in their day-to-day interactions. You’ll also work closely with the product/service teams to help them evolve the products/services and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.

You will possess both a background that enables them to support an engagement and interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

Key job responsibilities
- Drive revenue and market share for AWS database services in a defined territory or industry vertical, Meeting or exceeding quarterly revenue targets
- Develop and execute a comprehensive segment/ territory plan, accelerate customer adoption of database services;
- Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS database solutions;
- Manage the end-to-end commercial process through engagement of appropriate resources such as Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Executives and Partners, etc.;
- Manage and maintain a robust and accurate pipeline and forecast
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts;
- Work closely with the HQ product team to communicate customer requirements;
- Experience working within the technology industry is essential
- Experience with cloud computing and or related fields (IT, software, etc)
