Role Overview

The Strategic HR Leader will play a key role in building strong partnerships with senior leaders and HR Centres of Excellence teams to develop and execute People Strategies and solutions for the organization.

This individual will lead and coach a team of HR Business Partners and HR Generalists in delivering HR services and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs.

The position has a primary reporting line into the Office of Human Resources and a matrix reporting line into the assigned business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and strengthen the capability and effectiveness of the HR team.
  • Become a trusted HR advisor to senior stakeholders and managers, demonstrating strong professional credibility.
  • Gather intimate knowledge of business needs and translate them into a HR agenda, ensuring HR programs are fit for purpose.
  • Collaborate with leadership, HR Business Partners, and NTU Shared Services - HR to develop and deliver HR solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on HR policies, employment legislation, performance management, recruitment, and rewards strategies.
  • Educate People Managers and employees on policy changes and implications, gathering feedback and inputs.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of HR programs and continuous improvement projects for Faculty, Researchers, and Administration staff.
  • Oversee the facilitation of Annual Performance Management cycles and central performance review meetings.
  • Support employee relations matters, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and unsatisfactory performance.
