Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Business Development Manager to join our Systems Business Unit (BU) at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) and become a key member of the core team driving growth of one of the key BUs in IFF Nourish.

The successful Regional Business Development Manager will have a solid technical background combined with strong business acumen, ensuring a thorough understanding of how key market trends and customer needs translate into food ingredient concepts with solid value propositions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive regional execution of a key new growth platform in the Systems BU, including global and regional support on capability build across the value chain and hands-on regional customer execution with Sales and Regional Product management.
  • Develop new, regional business opportunities to accelerate growth and secure a strong pipeline (medium and long-term) by:
    • Working with the Global Business Development Manager to drive cross-regional fertilization of local concepts and solutions between regions and across applications.
    • Translating the global strategy into regional strategic initiatives and actions.
    • Identifying and translating needs in core and adjacent segments into new competitive value propositions, concepts, and ingredient building blocks to guide R&D and Application development efforts.
  • Be Commercial Lead for Systems on longer-term innovation projects.
  • Support development and periodic reviews of the Systems strategy.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An engineering, technical, or science degree combined with a degree in business management.
  • A solid technical understanding combined with strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within application, innovation, business development, or product management.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Personal attributes:
    • A team player who collaborates well across functions and businesses.
    • Takes ownership of individual and team goals and work streams.
    • Willingness to learn from others and open to new ideas.
    • A curious, solution-oriented, high-energy individual who is comfortable with uncertainty and passionate about the food industry.

Travel Required: 50-80 days per year.
