As a key member of our global Reward and Benefits team at Herbert Smith Freehills, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the compensation and benefits landscape for our Asia offices. This exciting opportunity will see you lead our reward and benefits strategy, providing expert guidance and leadership to support the implementation and operations of our initiatives and processes across the region.

Reporting directly to the Head of Reward & Benefits, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and delivering key reward and benefits strategies, projects, and processes across the Asia region. This will involve working closely with regional HR leads to develop a total reward proposition that brings together salary, bonus, benefits, and recognition, as well as supporting the implementation of relevant initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be an experienced leader with a strong understanding of compensation and benefits structures in Asia. You will also have a proven track record of managing compensation and benefits schemes, with a keen eye for detail and a ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across the Asia region.

Key Requirements:

  • Approximately 3+ years' experience in a similar leadership role
  • Technical knowledge of compensation and benefits structures in Asia
  • Experience of managing compensation and benefits schemes
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles
  • Good understanding of market norms and best practice across different geographical territories
  • Practical knowledge of market data and survey provision, including Towers Watson
  • Strong data manipulation skills and ability to create spreadsheets from scratch
  • Able to provide mentoring and insight to those less experienced
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with working knowledge of Access and PowerPoint
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, with a numerate mindset
  • Client-focused, with strong interpersonal skills
