Job Summary
We are currently seeking a high-calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Channel Development in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop HSBC Life's multi-distribution channel growth strategy across retail and High Net Worth (HNW) segments, considering market growth, competition landscape, and HSBC Life's unique position within the bank and regional connectivity.
- Drive execution, lead, and coordinate with various stakeholders on strategic initiatives, including liaison with group stakeholders for discussions and approvals.
- Review and advise business on synergy among channels and with other HSBC Life markets, proposing ways to optimize and leverage collective expertise and resources.
- Align distribution and other functions (Products, Operations, Finance, Customer Marketing, Legal, Risk, and Regulatory Compliance) on individual and collective accountabilities in delivering sustainable financial and non-financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with HSBC Life Finance and Distribution Performance, Wealth and Private Banking, and external distribution to acquire insights and trends on channel performance and provide regular management updates on key areas for accelerated growth or risks to monitor.
HNW Commercial Development
This role will focus on alignment of development and priorities to HNW and HSBC Life's overall growth ambition by leading discussions and design and development in the following areas:
- HWN customer segment insights and how HNW solutions fulfill needs on domestic and international relationship groups, and appropriate marketing and client engagement approaches.
- Proposition-led product and solutions design and developments, referencing internal HSBC Life Asia and global capabilities, and external benchmarking.
- Distribution value chain and dynamics of HNW, including HSBC internal Global Private Banking, Commercial Banking, HNW agency, partnership intermediaries, HNW Brokers, Financial Advisors, and 3P Banc.
- HWN segment financials, including Product Value-Added Net Benefit (VNB), commercial terms, and distribution and marketing cost effectiveness.
- New business and underwriting competitiveness versus internal and external benchmarking.
- Legal, Risk, and RC domains across sales process, cross-border enablement, and Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) solution design and implementation.
Requirements
- Confident leader with a history of leading large-scale change and transformation projects.
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge in distribution in bancassurance & partnerships.
- Background in customer proposition, especially in HNW/UHNW segments, would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of legal, financial, and regulatory compliance risks associated with distribution.
- Experience in matrix stakeholder management and approval governance.
- Ability to work across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments, with outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, and a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
Salary Range
The estimated annual salary for this position is around SGD $120,000 - SGD $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This includes a base salary, bonus, and benefits package.
