Job Title: Assistant Manager, Group BD

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager, Group BD to join our team at Grab. As a key member of our Group Business Development team, you will be responsible for developing commercial strategy for assigned portfolio/industry sectors via strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive projects/deals end-to-end from commercial negotiation to closure, to project management and execution and maintain key relationships at senior levels of large corporate institutions.
  • Drive and create new partnerships as well as harvest existing partnerships to accelerate growth for Grab overall, specific to the assigned portfolio(s)/industries by working closely with multiple internal regional and local business and product/ops/engineering teams.
  • Co-create a business development plan and roadmap and ensure that this is aligned with overall Grab's strategic direction.
  • Support various group business development initiatives to ensure it meets Grab's objectives.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Serve as a key team member to define opportunities in the current landscape, strategize, structure, and execute OneGrab (enterprise-wide) strategic regional partnerships with tier 1 global/regional partners across SEA.
  • Execute Grab's strategic priorities with and across multiple Grab Verticals, both B2C (Mobility, GrabFood, Mart, Express, Fintech) and B2B (GrabMaps, GrabDefence, GrabForBusiness, GrabAds), and also coordinating with other business and product teams (P&L owners, product, marketing, procurement, legal, finance, country business development team etc.) across Grab's operating markets.
  • Actively identify and effectively engage prospects/partners in assigned portfolios/industries by effectively developing and communicating a clear Grab value proposition specific to the partner's business and use case to derive a win-win regional partnership with the partner.
  • Leverage personal networks and generate new leads as required to identify opportunities to improve and iterate on user/driver/partner-centric initiatives to improve the overall experience and drive revenue.
  • Own the development and execution of all business development initiatives, ensuring proper planning and on-time, on-target execution.
  • Prepare and deliver regular business reviews to Grab management on progress, roadblocks, and solutions to increase adoption (users/drivers/partners).
  • Track and analyze KPIs related to all initiatives and quickly build countermeasures by closely working with cross-functional and cross-country teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage senior relationships across SE Asia.
  • Develop customer-centric (users/drivers/partner) initiatives by representing the voice of the customer in all initiatives with the aim of improving lives.
  • Ensure all initiatives meet the strategic and financial objectives of Grab.
  • Support to build and maintain a high-performing team with a best-in-class team culture.
  • Proactively work with multiple Grab's commercial teams and within regional business development teams to craft and share best practices, efficiently using common resources.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in regional strategic partnerships.
  • Proven ability to blend business, strategy, finance, and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted, win-win deals.
  • Be extremely organized and bring a high level of attention to detail and efficiency while working under tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Some level of professional experience establishing, maintaining, and leveraging C-level relationships across SE Asia.
  • Strong track record in project management and managing internal and external stakeholders both locally and regionally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively.
  • A strong code of ethics and sound business judgment.
  • Strong in Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Relevant BA/BS/BEng degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Regional language proficiency (e.g. Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu, Vietnamese, Tagalog).
  • B2B enterprise sales and/or strategy experience.
