Job Overview:
The Institutional Sales Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development and growth of the brokerage firm's institutional client base in Singapore. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, forging strong relationships with institutional clients, and developing customized solutions to meet their business needs. The ideal candidate will also need to be bilingual in English and Chinese and be familiar with both the China and U.S. markets to effectively communicate and engage with clients across these regions.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive growth in the institutional business in Singapore.
- Identify emerging market trends and business opportunities to stay ahead of the competition, particularly in China and U.S. markets.
- Analyze competitors' offerings and market positioning to develop competitive strategies.
- Collaborate with senior management to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
- Develop a deep understanding of our securities products and solutions, including trading platforms, risk management systems, and regulatory compliance tools. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor offerings in China, U.S., and Singapore markets.
- Facilitate communication between our product team and clients to design and offer customized solutions that meet specific client needs.
- Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, progress, and results to senior management.
2. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Identify and target potential institutional clients, such as broker-dealers, fintech companies, and other financial institutions across China, U.S., and Singapore.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with institutional clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Conduct client presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the functionality and performance of our solutions to secure new business.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for institutional clients across China and U.S. markets, ensuring strong communication and service delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CMFAS) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in institutional sales or business development within the brokerage or financial services industry.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages, particularly with clients in China and Southeast Asia.
- Strong understanding of China and U.S. financial markets, investment products, and institutional client needs.
- Proven track record of successfully acquiring and managing institutional clients across global markets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other business development tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments in China, U.S., and Singapore.
