Roles & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Responsible for ensuring that Singapore operations is managed with a high degree of efficiency to achieve outlined business goals and objectives. The General Manager will serve as the primary representative in Singapore, and will build and maintain successful partnership with employees, customers, vendors, and the community.

The primary responsibilities of the General Manager are to manage Supply Chain activities for assured supply for our customers, execute the daily operating plan and management of a multi-temperature, technology-driven, 3rd party Transportation and 3rd party Warehouse workforce in a highly customer-focused environment and identify growth opportunities in the market.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director,Asia and works cooperatively with other senior level management across the globe.

• Manage relations with client companies to identify opportunities for expansion or improvement in products/services provided or solution of any contractual or operational problems, aiming to maintain overall client satisfaction and project a positive image of the company in the market


• Identify opportunities, assess feasibility and make recommendations for new business development to ensure adequate return and safeguard security of the company's assets

• Collaborate with cross functional Heads of Department on annual budget exercise, client pricing review to achieve profitable outcomes and best practices to attract and retain talent

Leading Change


• Lead initiatives to identify inefficiencies across the supply chain, implement process improvements, and adopt Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to optimize operations, reduce waste and drive cost savings and drive continuous improvement


• Champion the adoption of our client new Supply chain Human resources program, Sedex guidelines and new SMETA auditing tool.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration on improvement projects to enhance overall operational efficiencies.

• Lead the development and execution of operational strategies to achieve key performance indicators and ensuring all activities are carried out efficiently within budgetary constraints while maximizing profitability.


• Uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity by ensuring compliance with company policies, legal regulations and industry standard. Foster a culture of accountability and transparency in all business operations.


• Drive initiatives to create a safety-first culture by implementing robust health and safety programs, conducting regular training and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols to achieve zero loss time injuries


• Monitor key operational metrics and financial performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancement that drive results while maintaining a commitment to ethical and safe practices

Communicating Effectively


• Present clear, concise and timely updates on company strategic initiatives, performance metrics to senior leadership team and team members ensuring alignment and shared understanding of business objectives


• Serve as an approachable and supportive leader, encouraging employees and team to share feedback, ideas and concerns while demonstrating empathy and active listening in all interactions


• Promote a culture of open communication by facilitating regular team meetings, townhalls, one-on-one discussion, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued while addressing challenges constructively


• Recognize team achievements to foster a collaborative and motivated workplace environment.

Skills, Personal Attributes & Experience:


• Tertiary qualifications preferred


• Minimum 8-10+ years of experience in supply chain management and logistic environment with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role


• Proven experience in managing 3PL or 4PL logistic operations ideally in similar food distribution service environment


• Strong leadership, people management skills and teambuilding skills to inspire and motivate diverse team


• Proven track record of developing successful customer/business partnerships


• Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately


• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills


• Experience managing an evolving and dynamic environment


• Travel requirements: 20% to Malaysia, Korea and Europe/US
