We are currently supporting a prominent shipping company in their search for an experienced General Manager to lead their Capesize Chartering team. This role will oversee Chartering Managers and related functions under with a strong focus on global trade execution and decarbonization initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in both commercial chartering and new business development, particularly in areas involving alternative fuels such as LNG, ammonia, methanol, and biofuels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead chartering operations across time/voyage charters and COAs
  • Manage team performance and develop talent within the chartering unit
  • Drive commercial strategy, vessel deployment, and stowage planning
  • Identify and lead decarbonization-related projects and partnerships
  • Research and develop new fuel-based ship types and commercial structures
  • Collaborate closely with global stakeholders across departments

Requirements:

  • Min. 10 years of relevant experience in dry bulk shipping (Capesize preferred)
  • Proven chartering background with strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Exposure to decarbonization projects and new fuel technologies is advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen, leadership capabilities, and project management experience.
  • Familiarity with Veson IMOS and maritime regulations (MARPOL, RightShip, etc.)
