JOB PURPOSE:
Holiday Tours & Travel Group is a regional company with focus on representation business such as acting as General Sales Agent for airlines/tourism bodies/attractions and other travel related services. The Sales Manager (Airlines) based in Singapore is the overall-in-charge of principal carriers assigned under his care. The qualified person will provide leadership for his team, liaise, and work closely with key stakeholders including personnel from principal carriers, formulate and execute sales & distribution/marketing plans to grow the airlines' revenues. He is fully accountable for the performance of the assigned carriers and in the process, generates profits for the Company.
We are looking for a dynamic person with experience in the travel industry, especially in the airline business, and who possesses strong people management skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Full responsibility for the performance of assigned airlines.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to team comprising of sales/marketing, reservation/ticketing, trade support & other commercials.
- Hands-on, able to roll-up the sleeve and work with the team.
- Work closely with principal carriers to design and recommend sales and marketing programs and set short and long-term sales strategies.
- Liaise closely with various stakeholders in the market, including embassies/consular offices/tourism bodies/corporate clients/travel partners etc.
- Support the principals represented by the company on reservation and ticketing.
- Participate in events and sales calls to provide a management presence.
- Accountable to ensure reporting staff are performing on a daily and weekly basis.
- Perform other related functions, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit and the regional group.
CORE CAPABILITIES:
Educational Qualifications:
- Degree Level or relevant industry experience
- PC literate with knowledge of Word/Excel/Powerpoint
Experience:
- At least 5 years proven understanding of Singapore travel industry (especially the outbound travel business) and Airline Marketing.
- A proven track record of effective management at mid-senior level
- A proven ability to negotiate and work within a multi-national and multi-cultural environment with strong leadership skills.
- Strong people management experience
Skills/Competencies:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; will be an advantage if able to communicate in other languages.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Good budgetary control skills
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and pro-active.
