Job Description

Job Overview:

As a Business Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base by creating and nurturing relationships with new stakeholders, Contractors, Developers, Architects, Technical Consultants, New Tenants and Project Management Consultants. You will be responsible for promoting our value proposition to commercial customers and implementing effective incentive programs tailored to their unique needs. This position demands a proactive sales approach, strong networking abilities, and a customer-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stakeholder Networking:
  2. Identify and develop a network of new stakeholders within the commercial building industry, including Contractors, Developers, Architects, Technical Consultants, New Tenants and Project Management Consultants.
  3. Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking sessions to establish connections and build relationships.
  4. Value Proposition Promotion:
  5. Clearly articulate and promote the company's value proposition to new commercial customers, demonstrating how our products/services contribute to the Sustainability Goals, and align with their requirements.
  6. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to stakeholders.
  7. Market Research and Analysis:
  8. Conduct market research to understand trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs within the commercial building segment.
  9. Use insights to refine sales strategies and tailor offerings to maximize customer appeal.
  10. Sales Strategy Implementation:
  11. Execute targeted sales strategies to drive new customer acquisitions and expand market presence.
  12. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales collateral and campaigns that effectively communicate our offerings.
  13. Incentive Program Development:
  14. Design and implement incentive programs aimed at motivating and rewarding new commercial customers for their loyalty and procurement.
  15. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of incentive programs, making adjustments as needed to improve customer engagement and sales performance.
  16. Customer Relationship Management:
  17. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline management using CRM systems.
  18. Follow up with leads and prospects to nurture relationships and convert potential opportunities into sales.
  19. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
  20. Work closely with channel teams, product management, customer service, and operations teams to ensure customer needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  21. Provide feedback from the field to inform product development and service improvements.
  22. Performance Monitoring:
  23. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets as established by sales leadership.
  24. Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and competitive insights.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the commercial building or construction industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial building products, services, and market dynamics.
  • Skills:
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-lasting relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
