Responsibilities
- Ensure all food meets halal certification standards and assist in menu creation for various events.
- Supervise food preparation for consistency and high standards of presentation.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and food innovations.
- Work with event teams to adjust food production based on specific needs, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery.
- Lead kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring efficient operations and performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and halal certification regulations, maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Regularly check equipment, inventory, and workspaces for safety and cleanliness.
- Manage kitchen inventory, monitor food costs, and maintain a budget.
Requirement:
- Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
- At least 4 - 6 years of experience in banquet and large-scale event catering, or within a luxury hotel environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of food preparation standards and certification requirements.
- Proven experience in leading a kitchen team and managing food production for large-scale events.
- Excellent cooking and food presentation skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Experience in preparing a diverse range of cuisines, particularly Chinese, Malay and Western is added advantages.
