We're looking for a Production Sous Chef / Senior Sous Chef who takes pride in precision, consistency, and quality. At Avant Fine Foods, no two days are the same — you'll be hands-on in our central kitchen, ensuring our premium seafood and meats reach our B2B clients perfectly every time. You'll work closely with the team, manage production logistics, and help bring structure and innovation to our operations.
This role is far from boring. You'll oversee production workflows, manage inventory and logistics, maintain quality control, and collaborate with our R&D team on new dishes and products. Beyond the kitchen, there are opportunities to explore our supply sources firsthand, traveling to see where our premium ingredients come from and learning directly from the source.
What You'll Be Doing- Oversee daily production, ensuring recipes, portions, and quality standards are met.
- Manage inventory, track stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers.
- Plan and manage production logistics for smooth operations and timely delivery.
- Implement and monitor food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Use kitchen management software to track production schedules, monitor yields, and generate reports.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Collaborate with R&D to refine existing products and develop new offerings.
- Optimize production workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in supplier visits and sourcing trips to learn and explore.
- At least 3 years' experience in a standard restaurant environment and an additional 2 years in wholesale or central kitchen operations.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Strong computer skills: proficient in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience managing logistics and production workflows.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and quality control measures.
- Creative, proactive, and adaptable.
- Passionate about continuous improvement, consistent production, and helping the team grow.
