Data is a critical enabler of our business, from our investment professionals and clients to our distribution and operations team. The Data Operations team ensures that our data assets and “data products” are fit for purpose, both now and in the future. Working with Head of Data Operations, the Business Data Lead will drive the new Target Operating model for Data Operations, transition the team to data domains driven specialists, with scalable operating model as part of a transformation programme.

A new role in the key data operations function reporting to the Head of Data Operations. The Business Data Lead is responsible for Data Operations New Operating Model implementation, working with Service Provider and Internal stakeholders to bed down ownership and stewardship of data that resides in Aladdin and/or the Eastspring Data Management Platform (DMP). The department comprises of key data domains expertise in Securities and Index Data, Pricing and Valuation and Portfolio/Fund Data.

The Business Data Lead key accountabilities will include:

- Represent Data Operations in the various domains as Data Lead to provide support in key transformation program to redesign operating model and new workflows for Data Operations
- Work with Head of Data Operations to drive strategic future vision
- Collaborate with Service provider and key stakeholders to map out detailed current as-in
- Redesign current processes to ensure future business scalability and operating model
- Identify Business risks and ability to implement processes for risk mitigation
- Provide Training to Internal team and External service providers for current and future processes
- Support Implementation of a New ABOR system
- Provide data management input for the Change requests/new initiatives raised by various business teams that impacts future operating model
- Provide input to requirement documents, use cases and other papers as required
- Ensure all new procedures are documented and agreed
- Design MIS reporting to support future operating model, capturing risks and efficiencies internally and of service provider
- EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5-10 years of experience working on Securities, Pricing, Index, Portfolio and Fund Data Operations in Financial institutions
- Degree in Business/Finance or related disciplines
- An excellent understanding of a wide range of tradable instruments
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Prior experience using Aladdin and Data Masters like GoldenSource, Fundipedia or other platforms is desirable
- Knowledge of R & Python programming skills is a plus
- Good understanding of Front Office, Trade Lifecycle and Operations processes
- Understanding data management governance frameworks
- Working knowledge of data vendor systems such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P, etc.
- Excellent customer focus and high level of accuracy, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the small team
