About Our Client Our client is a leading manufacturer of flow meters used extensively in the Oil & Gas industry. This is a well-established company with a trusted and world-renowned brand. Currently operating across numerous business segments and providing innovative solutions through a comprehensive product portfolio. The Business Development Director, APAC will drive new and existing customer & distributor relationships in the region. Globally, the firm aspires to grow their topline 3x in the next few years. Job Description The Business Development Director, APAC is responsible for driving direct and distributor sales of flow meters into demanding industries such as O&G and petrochemicals. Given the lean global team, the role will be responsible for strategy, implementation, and business development in APAC. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, this role is responsible for: Leading sales in APAC by bringing new O&G relationships to the group Managing existing distributor and direct relationships Building a strategic growth plan for the business Target regional EPC companies to enlist on their approved vendor lists Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and convert cross-selling opportunities in other geographic regions Having a strong understanding of competitors in the industry and identifying potential market expansion Own the regional business plan covering inventory and production Provide market insights to the product management team to ensure the business is innovating to suit customer needs Quarterly reporting to the Group MD on market risks, opportunities, and forecasting The Successful Applicant Masters' or Bachelors' Degree in mechanical, industrial or a related technical discipline Eight or more years in selling flow meters, valves or other measurement equipment to the heavy industries, with at least three years in an APAC role Strong distributor relationships in the region Existing network for Oil & Gas customers with at least two years of selling to large cap clients Experience in driving consistent double-digit growth for a high-value engineering products' business and strong knowledge of CRM usage The role requires frequent overseas travel in APAC - we estimate 50% travel in year one What's on Offer Our client, a high-end manufacturing firm, has a history of close to fifty years in making flow meters for high value industries that placed significant emphasis on process, safety and accuracy. As part of a global redesign of the GTM strategy, they are investing in sales leadership in APAC and want to increase their market share through market, product and partner diversification. With their origins in EMEA, they enjoy fantastic brand recognition and are looking for a true "brand ambassador" in APAC. The remuneration for this role, benefits and commissions will be competitive, and the client will provide kickers for exceeding the sales goals.
