The Role
We're seeking a seasoned trade leader to own and shape our Transpacific and Latin American trades from strategy to execution. This role is truly a mix of big-picture strategy and hands‑on delivery :
  • One day you're helping craft a 3‑year strategic roadmap
  • Another day you're setting and executing pricing strategy or helping to negotiate contracts with vendors or terminals
  • You're just as comfortable in Excel models as you are leading cross‑functional strategy forums

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and execute the full commercial and operational strategy for Transpacific and Latin American trade lanes
  • Lead pricing, yield, forecasting, equipment planning, and P&L accountability
  • Work with terminals, agents, vendors, partners and manage critical external partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Network, Procurement, Operations, and Finance to ensure seamless execution
  • Contribute significantly to company-wide strategic planning and trade positioning
  • Mentor and build a lean, high-performing team - balancing strategy, operations, and execution
  • Be both a thought leader and a doer - driving results with data, insight, and real-world follow-through

Requirements
  • 15+ years in container shipping - ideally within a carrier environment
  • Deep experience in Transpacific and/or Latin American markets , both commercially and operationally
  • A hybrid thinker: you can set direction and roll up your sleeves to execute
  • Strategic mindset, strong communicator, comfortable managing vendor negotiations and commercial complexities
  • Passionate about learning and building - not just managing - the business
  • Based in Singapore (or willing to relocate), and fully engaged with ESL's global ambitions
