The Salesperson is a senior-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Director Salesperson also acts as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective is to serve as a strategic advisor, formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.
Responsibilities:
Refine and execute sales/marketing strategies to enhance Citi's client footprint and maximize revenue, working with management to set priorities, market penetration, and revenue goals.
Leverage your contact network to understand client needs, introduce Citi's offerings, and persuade clients to adopt them to increase satisfaction and revenue.
Advise the team on strategic positioning and closing transactions with internal stakeholders such as structuring, trading, legal, credit, and risk.
Build relationships with sales teams to leverage Citi's franchise and source relevant buying and selling opportunities.
Lead governance and controls to ensure compliance and risk management.
Collaborate closely with control functions like Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to maintain proper governance.
Promote a culture of responsible finance, good governance, expense discipline, and ethics.
Assess risks and rewards of transactions carefully, considering the firm's reputation.
Adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
Follow all policies and procedures related to your role.
Obtain and maintain necessary licenses within the required timeframe.
Evaluate risks prudently, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and escalate issues appropriately.
Qualifications:
15+ years of sales experience in financial services.
Experience working directly with buy-side clients.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Broad client relationships preferred.
Must have or be able to obtain licenses such as Series 3, 7, 55, and 63.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
