Job Summary

The Job Coach plays a pivotal role in empowering students to achieve their career aspirations by providing personalized support and guidance throughout the internship and employment process. This involves working closely with students to understand their ambitions, assessing their readiness for internship and open employment, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to source job training and internship opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to assess students' readiness for internship and open employment.
  • Communicate with students to understand their career goals and aspirations.
  • Assess students' needs and wants, and develop personalized support strategies.
  • Source and arrange job training and internship opportunities for students, and provide job matching services.
  • Conduct site assessments to analyze and evaluate the suitability of the job site, and identify potential barriers to employment.
  • Develop and implement Employer Education and Awareness Programmes/Workshops for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare students for the internship, including teaching them how to complete job tasks and developing their social and life skills.
  • Provide one-on-one training tailored to the needs of the student, and assist them in discovering and overcoming barriers to employment.
  • Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively, and guide students in learning to complete job tasks.
  • Help students in developing motivation and skills, and provide assistance and guidance to students who need help with everyday work activities or new tasks.
  • Counsel students on fine-tuning work habits/skills in preparation for employment, and negotiate progression to open employment with the employer after the end of the internship.

Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in any discipline with at least 3 years of working experience.
  • A strong team player with excellent people skills, and ability to work as a team player in collaborating, managing, and facilitating projects and events.
  • A self-motivated and independent individual, with ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Possess communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to adhere to regulations, standard operating procedures, work protocol, and processes.
  • Possess organisational and time management skills, problem-solving aptitude, and respect for diversity.
