Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Manager, Events and Operations to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing career-centric events, as well as managing shared operational functions such as finance and procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end event management to organize career fairs, employer panels, workshops, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure participating employers, panellists, and/or guest speakers.
  • Oversee logistical arrangements, including site recce, venue setup, furniture rental, AV requirements, and catering services.
  • Develop and execute event promotion strategies to drive participation and engagement.

Stakeholder Engagement
The ideal candidate will serve as a point of contact for students and employers regarding event participation, provide support and guidance to students preparing for events and opportunities, and foster close ties with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of events.

Analytics, Data Management, and Reporting
The role involves maintaining accurate records of event attendance, feedback, and other relevant metrics, preparing reports and analysis on event outcomes and office operations, and utilizing data to make recommendations for improving event effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Operations Management and Office Administration
The successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of office procedures and policies to ensure efficient day-to-day operations, coordinate with other departments and external partners to streamline operations and address any issues that arise, and provide secondary support to functions such as budget tracking and financial reporting, office organisation, and facilities management.

Team Collaboration and Communication
This role requires collaboration with university stakeholders, including academic departments and administration, to ensure alignment of career services with overall university objectives, assisting in training and supervising student assistants, interns, and associates as needed, and contributing to the development of new initiatives and supporting ad-hoc projects.
