Procurement Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in managing material sourcing and supplier relationships.

  • To be successful in this role, you will need to source, negotiate, and purchase materials efficiently, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • You will build and maintain strong relationships with local and overseas suppliers, evaluating their performance and recommending improvements or alternatives as needed.
  • Maintaining optimal inventory levels is crucial in supporting production schedules without overstocking, so close monitoring of inventory levels is essential.
  • You will review drawings and project requirements with project managers to ensure correct material specifications are procured.
  • Staying up-to-date on market trends and pricing for wood and related materials is vital in optimizing cost control and budgeting.
  • Handling import/export documentation, permits, and regulatory compliance where required is also a key responsibility.
  • Collaboration with production and warehouse teams to resolve material shortages or quality issues quickly is critical.
  • Maintaining proper records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier databases for audit and reporting purposes is also essential.

Requirements:

  • At least 2–3 years' procurement experience, preferably in carpentry, construction, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of wood materials, hardware, and finishing supplies.
  • Good negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office / Google Workspace; knowledge of ERP or inventory management software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication in English; ability to speak Mandarin/Malay is an advantage for liaising with suppliers and workers.
