Lead and manage business activities across Northeast Asia. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the region's business environment and be able to identify opportunities for Singapore companies.

  • Strengthen relationships with government agencies, business associations, and international organizations in China and North Asia markets.
  • Cover assigned markets, particularly Korea and Japan, and oversee end-to-end processes from company identification to stakeholder management.
  • Organize business missions for Singapore businesses and facilitate participation in international trade fairs.
  • Develop and manage divisional annual work plans and budgets, create engagement strategies, and promote awareness of business opportunities in the Northeast Asia region.
  • Provide market research, strategic reports, and intelligence inputs on assigned markets or regions.
  • Facilitate business advisory and matching services to Singapore businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance working relationships with local and foreign partners, including government bodies, business chambers/associations, and Singapore and foreign companies.
  • Manage projects, events, and seminars/webinars to promote and develop trade and investments, including facilitating deals and projects for member companies in the Northeast Asia region.
  • Prepare administrative programs, meeting reports, presentation materials, and other necessary documents for bilateral lateral business committee meetings.
  • Contribute to partnership building for key initiatives and work with internal and external stakeholders for new partnerships.
  • Drive market programs and activities through omni-channel marketing and coordination with relevant parties.
  • Identify business trends and opportunities in Northeast Asia markets and generate business opportunities for Singapore companies.
  • Conduct research work into different markets and industries.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing/business development, business advisory, corporate secretaries, event planning, and execution.
  • Good understanding of Singapore businesses' needs in their internationalization journeys and ability to offer advisory services.
  • Experience working with government agencies, consultancies, or NGOs is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of local and international business environments, including economic and political trends that impact business.
  • Relevant working experience in Japan and/or Korea would be an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and team player.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, and effective bilingualism in business correspondence from English to a Northeast Asian language (Japanese and/or Korean) would be an added advantage.
