ExxonMobil in Singapore

We have a significant presence in Singapore, with over S$25 billion in fixed asset investments. Our manufacturing facilities include an integrated world-scale refining and petrochemical complex in Jurong and Jurong Island, a network of service stations under the Esso brand, and a lubricant plant. We also supply cylinder cooking gas and provide customers and commercial markets in the region with ground transportation, industrial, aviation and marine fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

As Singapore serves as the AP hub for some of our businesses, we employ about 3,500 people across positions in operations, projects, commercial, corporate support functions and others. We also contribute to community programs in Singapore that support the arts, education, health and the environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Development Advisor to identify potentially attractive low carbon solution (LCS) business opportunities for evaluation across multiple products and value chains. The successful candidate will develop and execute commercial strategies for opportunity capture, lead selected opportunities from inception through to investment decision, and understand, construct, and negotiate / execute agreements for commercialization of new opportunities in LCS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify potentially attractive LCS business opportunities for evaluation across multiple products and value chains.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies for opportunity capture.
  • Lead selected opportunities from inception through to investment decision.
  • Understand, construct, and negotiate / execute agreements for commercialization of new opportunities in LCS.
  • Ability to leverage on policy and technologies to converge on attractive business case.
  • Primary interface and relationship management to LCS' customer and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and operationalize stakeholder cooperation agreements.
  • Represent EM LCS in trade associations, government engagements, as well as partnering with other functional departments for our attendance, and participation at conferences and trade fairs to represent company and network development.
  • Provide competitive market insights to help support market strategies and analysis.
  • Affinity and familiarity with economic and cash flow modeling.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or business disciplines.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience working business development, including commercial negotiations.
  • Oil and gas or low carbon / energy transition experience preferred.
  • International experience, and experience with JV's and other partner frameworks preferred.
  • Strong communication, coordination, networking, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to effectively influence others without authority.
  • Demonstrated broad business acumen, can deal with ambiguity and exceptional at balancing corporate intent with delivering pragmatic solutions; strategic thinker.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external counterparts such as governments, NOCs, IOCs, and other key stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong courage of conviction, bias to action, strategic agility and able to clearly communicate.
  • Flexible to travel across region as business needs dictate.
