Project Manager/ IT Services Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager/ IT Services professional to join our team at Careers@Gov.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading digital projects throughout their life cycles, ensuring successful delivery of our digital agenda. This will involve planning project requirements with key decision-makers and domain specialists, handling project timelines, identifying risks, and communicating them clearly to all involved.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to business issues, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with a diverse team of business analysts, solution architects, and technical services consultants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate the development of business cases, ensuring projects are executed to meet identified business needs and outcomes within agreed parameters of cost, duration, and quality.
  • Handle and timely execute the procurement of digital systems.
  • Assess and apply the appropriate project management methodologies, such as Agile practices, to ensure project success.
  • Identify potential project risks and their implications to the organisation and recommend mitigating measures.
  • Actively engage and motivate various key partners to deliver and effect positive change in our digital products.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information/ Infocomm Technology, Computer or Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience as a Project Manager in at least 2 full project development life cycles, with at least one using Agile methodology.
  • Project Management-related certifications (e.g. CITPM, COMIT, or PMP), Agile-related certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Master), and cloud-related certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Strong vendor management and interpersonal ability with experience in tender calls or presentations.
  • Some experience in handling projects involving Cloud, Design Thinking, Data Analytics, or Product-Centric Development.
  • Strong analytical, conceptualisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • An adaptable and enterprising personality, with a willingness to pick new knowledge and take thoughtful risks.
  • Be motivated by innovation to achieve tangible business outcomes.
  • Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal, to positively influence key partners.
