About the Role

As a Vertical Solution Engineering Manager at Johnson Controls, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting industry-specific solutions for our organization. You will work closely with clients, sales teams, and product development to understand industry trends, customer needs, and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert consultation as a subject matter expert in the field of vertical solutions.
  • Lead and be accountable for engineering and solutions in the pre-sales phase, creating and delivering compelling end-to-end solutions across the Asia Pacific.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the specific industry vertical you are assigned to.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Design and propose customized solutions that align with the unique needs of the targeted industry vertical.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment with business goals and strategies.
  • Assist in the implementation of solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful integration.
  • Act as a technical liaison between the organization and clients, building strong relationships and understanding client goals.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution architectures, implementation guides, and best practices.
  • Ensure key risks and issues are identified, documented, mitigated, and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison and communication channel between Operations and Technology on issue resolution, status, project execution, and prioritization.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology relevant to the assigned industry vertical.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience (10-15 years) in Building management, Controls, Fire, Access, SCADA & PLC system, and HVAC.
  • Knowledge of building energy management systems and energy conservation.
  • Experience in IT/Networking Design/Storage will have added advantage.
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders across all stages of the projects/proposals.
  • Review and analysis of project requirements for clarity, understanding, and feasibility of solutions.
  • Ensure key risks and issues are identified, documented, mitigated, and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills along with the ability to pay attention to detail and ability to assimilate fragmented facts into a detailed problem statement.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to efficiently articulate technical subject matter.
  • Professional demeanor, resourcefulness, flexibility, and self-motivation.
  • Team player, reliable, and dependable.
  • Good communication skills, with an ability to express and understand complex technical concepts.
