Media.Monks is in search of a dynamic Media Strategy and Planning Director. This role requires a candidate who can immerse themselves in media and consumer analytics, assess business metrics and objectives, and identify growth opportunities. The successful candidate will translate these insights into comprehensive media strategies and collaborate with teams to implement them effectively. A significant aspect of this position involves partnering with our growth teams to deliver value to potential clients, ultimately converting them into loyal customers.

The ideal candidate is intrigued by the narratives behind data, possesses a flair for creativity, and enjoys merging these elements to forge innovative connections between consumers and brands. Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly comprehend client challenges and guide teams in crafting effective solutions.
  • Analyze APAC market dynamics and delve into cultural insights to create impactful media briefs.
  • Shape the formulation of media strategies and measurement frameworks to ensure alignment with client objectives.
  • Contribute to defining the media strategy and planning capabilities in APAC alongside media leadership.
  • Leverage media research tools to inform strategic media recommendations, utilizing demographic data, audience insights, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Media Operations and Activation teams to ensure seamless execution of strategies, maintaining financial oversight.
  • Oversee the media output for assigned clients, coordinating meetings and communications across various teams.
  • Identify and utilize insights and trends from diverse data sources to develop strategic recommendations for brand development and campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Prepare and present materials for new business initiatives and media pitches; engage in regional growth efforts within Media.
  • Work alongside creative teams to translate creative concepts into media executions.
  • Foster a culture of skill-sharing, training, and mentorship to enhance strategic capabilities.

Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in media planning and strategy within a paid media agency.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex data, including audience research and competitive analysis.
  • Extensive experience in both digital and traditional media, from strategy formulation to execution, with a strong grasp of local market dynamics.
  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Capability to synthesize broader media objectives into actionable plans.
  • Excellent client management skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of managing substantial media budgets with exemplary financial stewardship.
  • Familiarity with essential tools such as Nielsen, MRI/Simmons, GWI, Pathmatics, Kantar, MediaOcean, and Google Suite.
