Faculty Management Specialist

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), a premier institution for higher education, seeks an exceptional Faculty Management Specialist to join its ranks. This key position plays a pivotal role in leading the Office of the Associate Chair (Faculty) in all faculty-related matters.
This role is multifaceted, encompassing faculty recruitment, promotion and tenure, performance appraisal, re-appointments, and faculty nominations for prestigious national and international awards. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to institutional excellence by fostering a diverse and world-class faculty community.
In addition to traditional faculty administration duties, this role supports the Chair's office in high-level administration and often confidential administrative matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee faculty development initiatives, including tracking and monitoring faculty performance.
- Plan, initiate, and coordinate outreach efforts to identify potential candidates for faculty positions.
- Oversee non-tenure track structured faculty appointments and re-appointments, ensuring timely completion and adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual faculty performance appraisal exercise, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Lead the faculty promotion & tenure (P&T) exercise, coordinating and overseeing the entire process.
- Manage NAP & NRF Fellowship recruitment, responsible for the end-to-end process.
- Nominate faculty members for local and international awards, working closely with the Associate Chair (Faculty) and School Chair.
- Utilize the NTU-MSE LinkedIn Recruiter platform to source potential candidates for faculty and research staff positions.
Requirements:
- A recognized degree in Engineering / Science with minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in administration within an Institute of Higher Learning.
- Extensive experience working with various stakeholders, preferably in career services or a similar field.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with advanced proficiency in data analysis and systems thinking.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to multitask under given timelines.
- Possess initiative, able to work as a team player, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
