Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and expansion in assigned geographic areas, industry categories, and market segments. Key tasks include:

  • Meet assigned sales goals and develop new business opportunities through research and market analysis
  • Generate and follow up on new business leads to meet sales and profitability targets in line with overall strategy
  • Prepare client-specific presentations emphasizing the unique selling proposition of Cigna's products
  • Maintain harmonious business relationships with benefits intermediaries to penetrate individual client segments
  • Act as an adviser to clients on all aspects of their international medical insurance requirements and develop a pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Coordinate case implementations to ensure seamless inception processes
  • Participate in specific projects, such as reviewing service standards, developing product and pricing strategy, and creating product literature
  • Exercise judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting techniques and procedures
  • Report sales business achieved to the Head of Business Development in line with agreed format
  • Manage prospect and potential customer data through CRM software (Salesforce)
Key Challenges

The Business Development Manager will face challenges including:

  • Fostering collaboration and gaining support for organizational proposals
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure optimum service to clients

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales within the health insurance industry
  • Technical expertise in project management, analysis, finance, and product knowledge
  • Ability to drive results through strategic thinking and foster collaboration
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
  • Supporting and directing junior professionals
  • Obtaining required papers for licensing purposes
