As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for developing menus that showcase your creativity and expertise.

Job Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chef to join our team as a Head Chef. In this role, you will oversee food preparation, develop menus, and lead a team of cooks and kitchen staff members.

Main Duties:

  • Menu Development: Create menus that meet culinary excellence standards and cater to diverse tastes.
  • Culinary Oversight: Oversee food preparation to ensure dishes are presented consistently and meet quality standards.
  • Team Management: Hire, train, and supervise cooks and other kitchen staff members to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, ordering food and supplies as needed to avoid waste and optimize resources.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance by tasting dishes before they are served to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Maintain high sanitation standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations to prevent accidents.
  • Kitchen Efficiency: Optimize kitchen operations to manage budget and estimate staff workload and compensation effectively.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect equipment for cleanliness and functionality, arranging repairs when necessary to minimize downtime.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Expertise: At least 5 years of experience in cooking Japanese or French cuisine.
  • Establishment Expertise: Previous experience in high-end Japanese Izakaya establishments is highly valued.
  • Availability: Ability to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Teamwork: Strong team player with self-motivation skills to lead and motivate team members.
