We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Data Strategy Lead, CMB Channels.

Principal Responsibilities

As a Data Strategy Lead within CMB Channels, you will be responsible for defining and executing data strategies that support our partnerships, customer success, product development, technology, finance, HR, and business management functions. Your primary objective will be to harness the power of data to drive business decisions, optimize processes, uncover new revenue opportunities, enhance overall business performance, and support finance, HR, and business management functions.
  • Data Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives, with a specific focus on improving business performance and supporting finance, HR, and business management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their specific data needs and challenges
  • Data Modelling: Create and oversee the development of data models that accurately aligns with the business goals. Utilise data modelling to support decision-making and business case development
  • Business Performance Optimization: Identify key business performance metrics and KPIs, and implement data-driven initiatives to improve them, while also supporting finance, HR, and business management functions. Work closely with executives and pillar heads to align data strategies with performance goals
  • Monetization Strategy: Identify opportunities to monetize data assets through innovative approaches, partnerships, and new product offerings, and ensure these strategies benefit finance, HR, and business management functions as well
  • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance best practices, ensuring data quality, privacy, and security across the organization, which is essential for finance, HR, and business management
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Partnership, Customer Success, Product, Technology, Finance, HR, and Business Management teams to identify data-driven opportunities and ensure data supports their respective goals while contributing to overall business performance
  • Data Roadmap: Create a data roadmap that outlines short-term and long-term data initiatives, including data collection, storage, analytics, and reporting, with a clear focus on how these initiatives impact business performance, finance, HR, and business management functions
  • Data Insights: Lead efforts to extract actionable insights from data, enabling data-driven decision-making across the company, improving business performance, and supporting finance, HR, and business management
  • Data Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party data providers and technology vendors to enhance data capabilities, which in turn positively impacts business performance and supports finance, HR, and business management functions
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our data strategy remains cutting-edge and competitive, continually enhancing business performance
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Management)
  • 6+ years of proven experience in data strategy development and implementation, preferably in a similar leadership role in commercial banking space with a focus on improving business performance and supporting finance, HR, and business management functions
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data management, and data monetization practices
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Leadership experience with the ability to build and manage a team
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools, business intelligence platforms, and data visualization tools
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to align data initiatives with business objectives, particularly those related to business performance and supporting finance, HR, and business management functions.
  • Experience with data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, master data management, data standards, and enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of data science applications (e.g., Alteryx, GCP, databases) and Visualisation (Qlik View/Sense)
