Job Summary:
The Business Development Director will be responsible for driving the overall business development strategy, identifying high-value growth opportunities, and expanding the company's market footprint globally. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, extensive industry knowledge, and the ability to negotiate and close large-scale deals. The director will be expected to lead a team, build and maintain strategic relationships, and travel frequently to meet key clients, partners, and prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company's long-term objectives and growth plans. Identify and target new markets, verticals, and geographic regions.
  • Networking & Relationship Building: Leverage an extensive and established network to drive business growth. Attend industry events, conferences, and high-level meetings to build relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Global Market Expansion: Oversee efforts to expand the company's presence in international markets. This includes identifying regions with growth potential, conducting market research, and fostering new business relationships.
  • Sales & Deal Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations, including contract discussions, pricing models, and partnership agreements. Secure high-value deals and ensure the successful closure of business opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction and mentorship to the business development team. Set clear targets, monitor performance, and ensure the team is aligned with company goals.
  • Travel & Client Engagement: Travel domestically and internationally as required to meet with potential clients, partners, and key stakeholders. Cultivate and maintain relationships through regular face-to-face interactions.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscapes. Provide insights to senior management and adjust strategies based on evolving market dynamics.
  • Financial Performance & Reporting: Manage the business development budget, monitor the ROI on new business initiatives, and provide regular reports to senior leadership on progress, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and leverage internal resources to maximize growth opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or senior management roles. Proven track record of successfully driving large-scale revenue growth, securing major deals, and leading teams.
  • Extensive Network: Strong existing network of industry contacts and business relationships. Ability to leverage these connections to open doors and close deals.
  • Global Business Acumen: Experience with international market expansion, including travel and engagement in diverse regions.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of business development professionals. Strong decision-making and strategic planning abilities.
  • Excellent Negotiation Skills: Expertise in negotiating high-value contracts and partnership agreements.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives, clients, and partners.
  • Ability to Travel: Frequent travel (domestic and international) is required. Flexibility and adaptability to meet with clients and partners across different time zones and regions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the [specific industry/sector], including key market drivers, trends, and challenges.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related fields is preferred. Additional certifications or executive education would be a plus.
