Social Media Analyst

Fixed term contract

Maker Lab is looking for an energised, curious, and enthusiastic Social Media Analyst who can turn social data into insights and join our team. Our client’s brand is complex and dynamic, therefore, we strongly believe that insights about the perceptions of their brand are critical. As a Social Media Marketing Analyst, you'll be supporting their Marketing Insights and Measurement team through the use of social analytics to analyse and define insights related to how people perceive our client’s brand.

Role:

  • Analyse social data to understand trends and sentiment and inform key business decisions.
  • Track and assess escalating social media situations for proactive responses.
  • Leverage social listening tools (Brandwatch, Sprinklr, etc.) for effective data collection and analysis.
  • Develop creative search strategies to identify emerging trends and relevant topics.
  • Collaborate on quantitative and qualitative analysis, translating data into actionable insights.
  • Recommend improvements to the social analytics agency's operations.
  • Define targeted social audiences for focused monitoring and insights gathering.
  • Construct complex Boolean queries to refine social data searches.
  • Coordinate and track project requests between internal teams and the agency.
  • Synthesise, track, and organise social data into visually compelling formats.
  • Review and validate agency projects for data accuracy and insightful analysis.
  • Manage and own social media insights and measurement roadmaps.
  • Develop business-relevant conclusions from social media studies.
  • Communicate crisis management, insights, and learnings to stakeholders.

You:

  • BA/BS degree and a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a technology company, managing stakeholder relationships in a matrix organisation
  • Hands-on experience with social media platforms, especially Twitter
  • Deep interest in content on social media
  • Boolean logic with knowledge of how and when to apply deep Boolean commands like proximity commands, search order commands and more
  • Advanced Excel user, including basic automation
  • Granular expertise with Natural Language Processors (NLPs) to decipher sentiment accuracy and sentiment subjects
  • Knowledge of social APIs and server-side storage to determine how to develop issue alerts, dashboard integrations and historical data access
  • A capability to write scripts and functions within data housing platforms to process and analyse data from multiple data sources, including index/match functions, sum-product functions, and more.
  • Experience in crisis alert reporting; ability to communicate clearly and concisely to various management levels.
  • Experience with owned social analytics - both native analytics and third-party analytics. This includes impact measurement, optimization modeling and audits for strategic planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of the APAC region and local nuances
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and - ideally - fluent in another Asian language to cover projects across APAC.
