The Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS) brings together five national R&D,

clinical translation and service programmes to advance clinical research and innovation for Singapore, and

establish important capabilities for a future-ready healthcare system.

The Business Entities under CRIS include:

Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI)

National Health Innovation Centre (NHIC)

Advanced Cell Therapy and Research Institute, Singapore (ACTRIS)

Precision Health Research, Singapore (PRECISE)

Singapore Translational Cancer Consortium (STCC)

The National Programme for Cardiovascular Research aims to strengthen the overall impact of

cardiovascular research and translation in Singapore by bringing together key basic, clinical and translational

teams in joint platforms to actively establish and implement collaborative cardiovascular research

programmes involving different organisation and research partners (MOHT, NHCS & NHRIS, NUHCS &
CVRI, NHG Heart Institute, KTPH, A*STAR, NUS, Duke-NUS, LKC).

**What you will be working on**

**(A) GENERAL
1. Facilitate, review and evaluate strategic directions.

2. Lead and execute organizational and business plans.

3. Oversee the performance of and manage the manpower and resources.

4. Foster strategic partnerships with industry and government partners, investors and academic
stakeholders.

5. Report to the National Programme Board Oversight Committee (BOC).

**(B) SPECIFIC
1. Provide oversight to the establishment of a National CVD Consortium and establish a single point
of entry for Clinical Investigators and Industry Partners to access national CVD clinical trials.

2. Collaborating with and leveraging other NCTPs and CRIS BUs to establish a robust and secure
national database for CVD tissue/blood samples and a translational research platform.

3. Oversee the development of a collaboration agreement for multiple institutions to share CVD
database, and establish standardised template of research costs and protocols for multi-site trials.

4. Partner with national platforms such as BMS IPO to engage industry and attract funding as well as
drive commercialization outcomes and strategy. Leverage on technology transfer offices and seek
expertise of economic agencies as needed.

5. Identify and develop a suitable business model to ensure fiscal sustainability of the National
Programme.

6. Report activities to CRIS Board through CRIS CEO/National Programme Board Oversight
Committee, NMRC Board.

7. Oversee the development and performance of its staff.

**What we are looking for**

**(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING**

Advanced degree in Medicine.

**(B) EXPERIENCE
1. About 7-10 years of experience in health and biomedical sciences research and clinical services
in CVD. Commands respect and international standing in the field of CVD.

2. About 7-10 years of management experience in Research Director role having led large scale
research programmes.

3. Experience in effective leadership, with strategic thinking and views in translating research and
translation outcomes into health and socio-economic benefits for Singapore and Singaporeans;
and has established strong networks within the community, with a national-level perspective on
building cross-institution partnerships and delivering results.

**(C) ATTRIBUTES
1. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and dynamic environment, including ability to interact and
communicate to senior level executives.

2. Strong problem-solving and risk-based decision-making skills, with a strong ability to influence or
manage without direct authority.

3. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.

4. Strong management skills and clear ability to influence and effectively align, motivate and
empower teams to progress project goals in a cross-functional matrix environment.
