Role Overview

The Cargo Operations (Mid-Level) position is responsible for independently managing oil cargo operations, ensuring efficiency in vessel operations and cargo quality management. This role requires hands-on problem-solving, leadership in execution, and the ability to deliver commercial value through proactive operational management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle cargo operations: liaise with terminals, surveyors, vessel operators, agents, and counterparties to ensure smooth loading, discharge, and STS operations.
  • Oversee vessel operations including scheduling, voyage instructions, bunker consumption, and voyage deviations.
  • Monitor and manage cargo quality: track density, viscosity, and specifications of product components; coordinate blending and re-certification where required.
  • Ensure timely circulation and accuracy of NOR, SOF, BL, cargo inspection certificates, and related documents.
  • Manage product stock positions at terminals and track losses; escalate discrepancies and resolve claims.
  • Verify and reconcile freight, port charges, demurrage, surveyor, and agent invoices with Finance.
  • Maintain accurate operational and cargo quality data in CTRM/ERP systems.
  • Lead operational troubleshooting for delays, contamination risks, and logistics constraints.
  • Mentor junior operations staff and provide coverage support for demurrage and settlements when required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects in operations workflows, systems, and cargo quality assurance.
