Custom & Freight Specialist - SL

The Custom & Freight Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end customs and freight operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and seamless international trade execution. You will drive cost efficiency and strategic improvements through effective coordination, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support HS code classification and assess Free Trade Agreement (FTA) feasibility to enhance trade efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to validate FTAs and ensure accurate HS code and tariff setup in SAP.
  • Monitor import/export regulations and ensure full compliance with customs documentation and procedures.
  • Manage freight service providers and maintain compliance with Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations.
  • Coordinate daily freight bookings, documentation, and scheduling to optimize cost and delivery timelines.
  • Prepare monthly freight reports and identify strategic opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Administration from the Manufacturing, Shipper or Industrial segment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an import/export control function
  • Strong knowledge in FTA, customs procedures, policies and regulations
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
  • Proficiency in SAP will be an added advantage
