The School of Humanities aims to enhance its Graduate (Coursework) programme offerings, and by extension further develop its professional development capabilities through the SkillsFuture scheme. The Assistant Director will be responsible for overseeing the administration and operations of the programmes offered under the school’s Graduate (Coursework) unit to ensure the smooth delivery of student & academic services in the school of Humanities. The role will also manage stakeholder relations such as NTU’s Admission and industry partners.
**Responsibilities**:
Student Admission
For the assigned MA programme:
- Oversees the planning and monitors student admission progress to ensure timeliness of the admission process.- Monitor admission numbers so appropriate actions can be taken to moderate/boost intake numbers depending on the progress.- Plan and execute marketing outreach, student orientation and information sessions.- Work closely with different departments at various levels within the University for student matters.
Oversight over the Graduate (Coursework) unit:
- Provide market research reports, forecasts, competitive analysis, campaign results and trends with recommendations to facilitate decision making by the management.
Programme operations- Manage assigned programme’s administration and operations such as academic advisory to students, facilitate new course proposal submission, timetabling, budgeting and overall work process optimisation and improvements.- Process optimisation and improvements - lead and drive the standardization of operational processes within the unit (across all programmes) to promote effective cross coverage.- General oversight of the unit’s operations and serve as consult to team members on operational matters.
Continuing Education and Training (CET) course
Manage and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the smooth planning and running of courses. This includes overseeing and supervising the programme’s CET operations and conducting periodic reviews to enhance the unit’s internal processes.
Publicity, outreach and event support
Lead the team in driving the programmes’ publicity and outreach efforts in consultation with the Programme Directors and in collaboration with relevant units in the school and college for its student recruitment campaigns. This includes website and social media content management and creation for marketing purpose.
**Requirements**:
- A degree from a recognized university preferably in Humanities/Social Sciences/Business Administration.- At least 6 years working experience in a higher educational institution or management of professional education programmes would be an advantage.- At least 3 years supervisory experience and in managing a team with more than 1 direct report.- Prior experience in event management as well as content management and creation for marketing (website and social media).-
- Proficient in Online communication software such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.- Good communication skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English.- A strong collaborator - ability to work well in within the team and with key stakeholders.- Possess exceptional organizational skills - the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.- Possess strong analytical, interpersonal and customer service skills.
