**What the role is**
- The Strategy, International & Research (SIR) Directorate oversees and drives MSF’s strategic planning, transformation, international engagement, as well as research and analytics efforts to achieve MSF’s strategic outcomes.
The Research and Analytics (RA) Division drives MSF’s research and analytics efforts, to strengthen the nexus between policy, practice, operations, research and analytics to support MSF outcomes, policies and programmes. It also drives the strategy for engagement with the external social research community beyond conducting deep research and data analytics studies, coordinating the social research agenda and building research expertise to support policymaking and programmes for MSF.
As a Senior Assistant Director/Assistant Director (Research Engagement), you will lead a team to drive central efforts to further MSF family’s strategic research engagement and communications, including via research collaborations and organization of research events, to further the knowledge base of the social sector.

**What you will be working on**
- Develop a strategic plan to work with academics, researchers, and non-researchers within and outside the Ministry to advance policy thinking and support evidence-based policy formulation through the development of research ideas, collaborations and/or translation of research findings
- Lead and guide the team to plan and execute MSF research events (e.g., conference, seminar, roundtable), working with both internal and external partners, stakeholders and vendors
- Lead the team’s efforts in scanning and synthesizing the social science research literature to inform the Ministry’s policies and programmes
- Oversee the development of research guidelines as well as improve processes and knowledge management/communications to promote research understanding and tighten research-policy nexus

**What we are looking for**
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to analyse complex issues through both a strategic and operational lens, synthesize multiple perspectives among internal and external stakeholders
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Keen interest and familiarity with research in the social sector, with strong ability to translate research findings into insights for policy development, practice and the general public
- Past experience in the planning and organisation of research events and/or the management of research projects would be an advantage
- Graduates and post-graduates welcome
