**JOB DESCRIPTIONS**

The incumbent will be working as an Ocean Procurement and Assistant Manager. S/he will procurement of carrier costs and negotiations with the carrier / co-loaders to ensure smooth operations flow. She will also manage all carrier-related submissions or approvals.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist in the procurement of carrier costs and negotiations with the carrier / co-loaders.
- Assist in the provision of rates for local sales/house accounts, overseas requests, and tenders.
- Handle booking requests from clients and manage the shipments according to the SOP.
- Consolidate all shipment instructions and documents and hand them over to the operations team.
- Manage carrier-related processes and submissions/approvals

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR SKILLS REQUIREMENT**
- Minimum ‘O’ Level / Diploma in any relevant discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in similar positions and have a good understanding of ocean processes.
- Good understanding of transshipment, import, and export procedures for ocean freight.
- Good knowledge of handling out-of-gauge cargo, dangerous goods, and chemicals will be given preference.
- Good working experience with MS Office and related Ocean / Shipping Software

- Good interpersonal and communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team player
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail and ability to follow written processes closely.
- Performs well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
