Purpose_**

Contributes to the overall success of the Human Resources in Singapore ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The incumbent works closely with the management team and key support functions, and must possess the ability to quickly grasp the business objectives and strategies of multiple groups and leverage human resources capabilities to support the achievement of business objectives. This individual will contribute to business success by building and maintaining a capable workforce that will be committed to deliver the Bank’s strategies and promoting Scotiabank as an employer of choice.

Accountabilities _**:

- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
- **HR Business Partnering (70%)**
- Provides people and workforce-related advice, strategies, and solutions related to workforce planning, recruitment, employee climate survey, learning and development, performance management, compensation, and succession planning using tools and assets developed by COEs: acts as the key point of contact for business needs, leveraging COE solutions to meet business objectives
- Participates and supports Regional HR Head in implementation of Global/Regional HR initiatives/projects focused on continuous improvement of core programs and services - Business Lead for APAC HR Transformation Project
- Delivers business line / regional feedback and user experience on program / policy design to COEs
- Proactively contribute to the transformation of the HR operating model, with the aim of creating a global integrated function that is scalable, flexible, efficient
- Coaches and develops leaders and business managers to deliver people management capabilities
- Partners with Business Heads / Compliance in staff performance improvement plans and staff disciplinary/breach investigations
- Ensures compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements by keeping abreast of the latest legislations and enforcing adherence to these requirements; and liaise with local Compliance team to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including submissions to MAS/SFA/FAA Representatives
- **
Talent Acquisition, Recruitment & Onboarding (30%)**
- Develops long term relationship with organizations/individuals that will enhance the talent pipeline flow within the country;
- Provides advice to hiring manager in the recruitment, selection, assignment and placement of staff to meet the Bank’s staffing objectives;
- Leads the coordination and execution of the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process to enhance new-hire onboarding experience, ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements and necessary due diligence are met;
- Liaison with regional Total Rewards to ensure competitiveness and consistency in Bank’s business principles and compensation philosophy to attract and recruit talent;
- Partners with third-party vendors for processing of background checks and immigration-related matters;
- Conducts new hire orientation.
