Channel Sales Manager

The Channel Sales Manager is directly responsible for sales of products and services to direct customers as well as channel partners in the assigned geographic territory. He/she will the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of direct accounts within their assigned territory. He/she is responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, developing account management strategies, coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet clients' needs. He/she will also be responsible for developing and managing a network of channel partners and distributors to complement direct sales efforts. He/she will generate revenue by ensuring client satisfaction and driving retention, renewals, and expansion of new or existing business.
1. Responsible to achieve sales and revenue targets across all business lines.
2. Acquire, develop and grow new accounts across all business lines. Accounts may include Pharmaceutical Companies, Biotech companies, Research Institutions, Academic Accounts, and distributors/channel partners within a designated region or territory.
3. Lead customer-centric, consultative selling efforts to uncover additional opportunities within key growth-oriented accounts
4. Manage network of channel partners to complement direct sales efforts.
5. Work cross-functionally with Inside Sales, Sales Specialists, Technical Support and in some cases Corporate Accounts ensuring effective collaboration of resources to deliver on client needs
6. Collaborate with Marketing on creating a marketing plan, registering/planning/attending regional vendor shows, creating and executing on campaigns
7. Other duties as assigned.
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline
- Technical background in Molecular Biology, Genomics or Biochemistry preferred
- Minimum of 5 years direct sales and/or channel management experience
- Proven record of high achievement in sales
Preferred
- Masters in scientific discipline; or MBA is advantageous
