**Role Description
Howden Markets resides in the Howden Broking Group (HBG) providing a group-wide, distribution, carrier management and placement strategy. The Howden Markets strategy is well-established in the UK and Asia, and developing across the US, Europe, TEMEA, Latam, The Pacific, Howden Re and DUAL. As the group continues to invest and expand through organic and in-organic means, it’s imperative the Howden Markets strategy reflects that by delivering a best-in-class engagement and distribution strategy to the global insurance market.

Howden Markets Asia was established in late 2020 and has enjoyed tremendous success during its short existence, building a strong carrier engagement strategy across the 3 core businesses in the region: Retail, Specialty and IPG Howden. In order to maintain that momentum and continue to evolve the strategy its important to have the correct team located in the regional hub of Singapore, with remit across the Asia region.

Howden Markets generate revenue in Asia by delivering suites of engagement-based services through signing carrier agreements. Largely these agreements are focussed on the GI and EB businesses in Singapore and Malaysia but increasingly the rest of the region. Additionally a Howden Markets strategy is developing with IPG Howden, un ‘untapped’ market that shows huge promise. This role will operate across all of these areas and have responsibility for the delivery of services, renewal of agreements and generation of new income.

**Summary of responsibilities**
- Support the delivery of the HMA budget in line with the 3-year Asia strategy.
- Delivery of all HM services to Carrier Clients in Asia.
- Renewal of all allocated Carrier Agreements, ideally with uplift.
- Form an HMA leadership team.
- Support the coordination of management of internal & external stakeholders across Asia.
- Work with the less developed countries in Asia to build a HM strategy.
- Maintain close alignment with global HM team in the UK.
- Work closely with neighbouring regions - TEMEA & Pacific.
- Evolve the HMA value proposition through superior use of date and insights.
- Regular reporting of progress against strategy to line manager.

**Required Experience**
- Operating at a senior level within at least a similar sized insurance broking company, the successful applicant will have evidenced the following:

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in general insurance markets
- Day to day handling of industry recognised consultancy style agreements
- Sustained and frequent interactions with global insurers’ local c-suite
- Proven track record in consultancy pipeline build, management and execution
- High degree of comfort and capability with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Successful interactions with placement teams in present insurance brokerage
- High degree of comfort and capability with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

**Qualifications**
- Educated to graduate or post-graduate level.
- Possession of, or significant progress towards, Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
