Regional Director South East Asia

**The Big Picture**:
Howden is a global leader in air & gas handling solutions in Cement, Steel, Power, Mining, Oil & Gas & Petrochemical, Ventilation and other General Industries. We deliver a 'One Howden' customer experience with cross-product synergies to meet customer needs.

**What needs to be done?**:

- Responsibility for P&L ~50m and implement operational strategies as per company’s strategic plan, and be accountable for commercial and operational activities.
- Establish a 'One Howden' sustainable organization and continuously build and lead a cohesive leadership team for South East Asia.
- Fostering a customer first behaviour across the region and being aware of competitor strategies.
- Increase customer satisfaction by improving On Time Delivery & First Time Quality.
- Deliver Aftermarket growth and margin improvement.
- Develop New Build business opportunities aligned with our global verticals including hydrogen, waste water, oil and gas.
- Build and maintain the leadership team to ensure ongoing strength and limited disruption of leadership. Delegate responsibilities and oversee the management team to provide guidance and motivation to drive performance; ensuring alignment of individual goals with strategic and operational objectives.
- Attracting, retaining and developing talent.
- Successfully using Howden Business Excellence (HBE) tools to improve our transactional processes, internal manufacturing processes and external supply chain.
- Develop and maintain excellent communications links with Global Product Groups and other Howden units.
- Drive and execute company’s performance and finance in accordance with budgets approved by Howden Group.
- Ensure the company meets all its legal requirements including those of Health and Safety.
- Establish contacts and maintain relationships with existing Howden clients to develop Howden Aftermarket support in the region.
- Developing and implementing sales strategies in collaboration with the APAC President.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting from the early identification of opportunities through to the sale execution and cash collection.

**What do you need to bring?**:

- Ideally you are a business leader with a global company with very strong organizational and operational capabilities, having made significant operational improvements e.g. profit increase, On Time Delivery improvements etc.
- Extensive understanding and previous exposure to manufacturing in a relevant industry
- Background in primary industries (e.g. Power Generation, PCOG, Steel) from an international company
- BA or BE in Business Administration or relevant field
- Strong financial and commercial acumen and P&L responsibility of $50m+. Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
- Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
- Growth and entrepreneurial mind set, progressive attitude - continuous improvement
- Extensive leadership experience in talent management including attracting, retaining and developing talent.
- Have held responsibility for a big growth agenda - proven record
- Strategic focus with the ability to analyse, formulate and implement strategic initiatives
- Decisiveness, results oriented, process driven with gravitas (executive presence)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills
- High energy and drive - persistent and persuasive and a driver of change
- Creative, open to new ideas with a passion for winning and a focus on ‘how’ we win and not just winning
- Data driven, but capable of making good business decisions without all of the facts

**The following would also be highly regarded**:

- Masters of Business Administration
- 10 Years’ experience in similar industry
- Cultural experience for South East Asia, such as Chinese, Indonesian, Thai
- Mechanical design and drafting experience

This role will involve travel for customer and supplier visits, including a significant proportion of international travel, this will account for approximately 20% of your time.
