DESIGNATION : Manager, Research Governance, Office of the Provost
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research Governance
- Support the Associate Provost (Research Governance) and Senior Associate Director (Research Matters) in areas related to research governance and administration, policy formulation and implementation, as well as coordination and communications with external and internal stakeholders.
- Institutes, Centres and Labs
- Execute projects that contribute to the governance and operations of the University’s portfolio of Institutes, Centres and Labs (ICLs), including the administration of programmes reporting into the Provost’s Office, organising department reviews, and encouraging best practices.
- General Administration and Reporting
- Coordinate cross-functional projects and collaborative activities initiated by the Provost’s Office.
- Support the Associate Provost (Research Governance) and Senior Associate Director (Research Matters) to prepare reports, papers and presentations, as well as take on other ad hoc projects and secretariat duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant work experience.
- Those who have worked in governance or research administration roles would be preferred. A legal background may also be helpful although it is not a requirement.
- Good problem-solving skills. Proactive and resourceful in initiating conversations with relevant stakeholders to identify and implement solutions.
- Strong analytical skills. Competent in sourcing and compiling data, extracting relevant and accurate information, and providing analyses or opinions to facilitate decision making.
- Ability to carry out desktop research on relevant policies and best practices, and help in drafting research/governance policy papers, frameworks, rules and guidelines.
- Independent worker with strong follow-up and performs well in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
