The Senior Business Development Manager will support the local Managing Partners in Singapore and Thailand, to deliver on the client development and marketing agenda, and the APAC BD lead with regional and wider global initiatives.

This is a strategic, yet hands on, role which drives the planning and day-to-day delivery of the firm's business development initiatives for local offices and practice groups. The role will help improve Kennedys' client relationships, deliver better client and market insight to lawyers, and increase our pursuit conversation rate. It will also work to enhance the brand and reputation of the firm and its lawyers.

This role will lead the function locally with responsibility for directing and developing the BD team. Key areas include Pursuits, key account management/CRM best practice, strategic marketing, press and publication management, brand guardianship.

**Team**

Kennedys' Business Development team supports the firm's global vision and our key clients and markets. They promote Kennedys brand, it's niche insurance and commercial practices, exceptional service, collaborative culture and ground-breaking technology. It also finds distinctive ways to promote the knowledge of our lawyers and help clients think ahead.

**Client Development Responsibilities**
- Work with partners to prepare office business plans and broader initiatives throughout the year. This could include marketing ideas, client activities or new campaigns that will help promote Kennedys specialist global expertise. For example for the Middle East or contribute regional or global agendas for business lines e.g. liability, property/construction, financial lines, corporate and commercial, etc. Support the regional BD lead by contributing to the regional plans and agenda
- Help partners prepare for strategic pursuits. Operate as a respected and proactive internal consultant, coaching partners and others involved in winning new business in the art of developing competitive, commercial propositions
- Project manage local and international pursuits (Tenders, Opportunities, RFPs). Draft content and contribute to formal panel tenders and informal pursuits e.g. proposal documents, presentations and fee quotes. Analyse opportunities to recommend bid/no bid decisions for local opportunities
- Draft and manage a library of local content that connects in with the firm's UK pursuit library and templates. Support partners on pitch presentations, win themes and best practice. Manage and feed the Opportunities module for the region and the local content library.
- Proactively support the management of the firm's key clients and global KRM programme. Develop local client plans and work with lawyers to drive the execution of those plans in order to improve the firm's strategic position with each client and increase our share of work. Liaise closely with the KRM team and work closely with lawyers to encourage CRM best practice Support key client' SLA compliance.
- Advocate the firm's CRM database at all times. Ensure data is current and segmented to support targeted reporting and e-marketing. Ensure lawyers are tracking all local BD activities and generate regular reports on client BD to help inform and advise the business on ROI.

**Marketing and Communications Responsibilities**
- Manage the planning and execution of targeted marketing campaigns that draw together the full MarComms mix - events, sponsorship, web, press, social media, and marketing collateral to ensure marketing activities are not executed in isolation and are approached as campaigns wherever possible. This will involve working closely with partners, the Business Development team and Corporate and Public Affairs department.
- Plan and deliver the local seminars/webinars, conferences and exhibition programmes and day-to-day client hospitality activiti Work collaboratively with Partners on suggesting targeted business development and marketing programmes to increase brand profile and generate networking opportunities. Ensure all events are managed and executed efficiently and to the highest quality within agreed budgets.
- Plan and manage the theming and distribution of e-publications. Work local practice groups to ensure their reputation is being enhanced through compelling industry and legal insights. Liaise with the Corporate & Public Affairs team to facilitate the inclusion of Singapore and Thailand content in global thought leadership campaigns.
- Manage external communications including media opportunities, award submissions, negotiating sponsorship, securing industry features and articles and press commentary. Liaise with the Communications team for best practice and support. Proactively contribute to internal communications ensuring that local activities are profiled appropriately across Kennedys' international network, including the intranet and other internal comms channels.
