We are seeking a spiritual leader to oversee the dialect ministry at our church.

The ideal candidate will be spiritually mature and mission-minded, with a passion for casting vision, shepherding the congregation, and overseeing the holistic spiritual development of our members.

  • Led by a commitment to Lutheran tradition, we uphold the centrality of Word and Sacrament and are passionate about discipleship, outreach, and intergenerational ministry.

Job Scope:

Pastoral work in Dialect Ministry involves overseeing the Lutheran Service of the Word and Sacrament and providing pastoral ministry for the dialect-speaking members.

  • Members: About 50-60 members, mostly elderlies, Hokkien speaking.
  • Ministry teamwork consists of a team of ministry leaders and servers.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting Lutheran Service of the Word and Sacrament, including pulpit ministry, scheduling preachers, and overseeing worship services.
  • Preparing weekly worship slides, updating Sunday bulletins, and managing offerings.
  • Organizing fellowship and outdoor events for members, as well as evangelistic events.
  • Providing pastoral care, including funerals, wakes, and house blessings.
  • Training ministry leadership teams and overseeing the administration of the Dialect Ministry.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Education: A Diploma/Degree in theology or Biblical studies.
  • Experience: A few years of church ministry experience, preferably with a Hokkien-speaking congregation.
  • Skills: Good organising skills, interpersonal communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with people at all levels.

Additionally, the candidate should be an active member of a church, conversant in spoken and written Hokkien, and able to empathise with people's life experiences.
