This is a newly created role. As the Business Development Manager, you will report to the Digital Insights Business VS Business Leader. This role will be highly visible in spearheading Roche’s efforts to develop itself as a true digital healthcare player in the larger healthcare ecosystem. You will pro-actively work with affiliates and other VS to develop strong knowledge base of new disease areas/ customer segments, lead the exploration and piloting of new business models, innovation services & solutions and product offerings (inorganic/ organic), and scale the successful business models across APAC, with the appropriate partnership, commercial and operational structure.
The Opportunity
Generate and consolidate the relevant market information in new disease areas/ markets. Understand the business drivers in strategic markets in new disease areas/ new customer segments e.g. insurance, patients, providers
Prioritise market and customer needs and translate them into strategies and execution plans to experiment and capture this opportunities (inorganic/ organic partnerships), in partnership with the affiliates & other Value Streams. Lead the exploration of new business models in new disease areas/ new customer segments e.g. insurance, primary healthcare etc.
Drive the translation of new insights into new business models, innovative services & solutions and where appropriate, product offerings (organic/inorganic). Identify/scout potential digital offerings beyond our current portfolio based on APAC needs and trends to support the development of the new business models/ product offerings etc.
Liaise with the Global Business Development / Partnering team as appropriate to enhance our holistic digital solutions portfolio. Lead the incubation and pilot testing of new business models, services and solutions - from initial customer journey mapping to helping shape concepts into real world customer offerings, with clear value proposition, go-to-market plans and pricing/ commercial models, with the support of the local affiliates. As well as articulate value proposition of the digital solutions/ new offerings and how they strengthen Roche Diagnostics leadership in the core business areas.
Determine the framework to launch partnerships/ new business models to new markets, and act as a coach for local affiliates to scale products. Design and execute appropriate partnership structure (i.e. licensing, distribution, OEM, etc...) and commercial and operational structure required to scale the solutions beyond the pilot markets
Be responsible for developing and maintaining the relationships with the larger healthcare ecosystem, particularly in new disease areas/ customer segments e.g. insurance, patients group, healthcare providers, to maintain a pipeline of new businesses, through proactive outreach, managing qualified leads and targeted account mappings
Identify upsell opportunities within the existing client base and explore new revenue conversations on new and existing products and services.
Who you are
You should hold a Bachelors or Masters in IT, Business, Healthcare, Finance with at least 5-8 years of relevant experience in developing and executing projects in the Southeast Asia/ emerging Asia region is desired.
Ability to do International travel of up to 50% is expected for this role.
