Roles & Responsibilities

What is this position about?

  • Ensure a sound and resilient data management framework (Front-to-Back-to-IT-to-Reporting) across CIB APAC platform
  • Administrate regional governances around personal data privacy for CIB and WM with possible extension for other Business lines having a presence in APAC to comply with BNP Paribas Group and APAC authorities (regulation or law) data related requirements
  • Build & deploy the capabilities required to achieve CIB data management & digital transformation ambitions including the adoption of digital assets
  • Act as key advisor on data & digital matters for APAC Business Lines & Functions supporting projects, NAC/TAC and third party engagements

Primary Role Responsibilities

Ensuring robust data framework

  • Ensure continuous adherence to regulatory requirements: mapping, analysis and storage of data related regulatory and Group requirements
  • Build comprehensive data cartography: Production and maintenance of clear and comprehensive data cartography in partnership with Global CIB ITO CDO; management of data referential
  • Data governance, quality & protection: ensuring management of data rules, responsibilities, governance, tools, operational guidelines and key principles to deliver data quality & protection
  • Risk assessment: Supervision of global/regional/local risk assessment exercises around data related risks
  • Procedures: Administration of standard global procedures around data management (data lifecycle, data classification, data quality issue management)
  • Controls: Supervision and execution (when applicable) of controls part of standard Control Libraries
  • Incidents / recommendations: follow-up of data-related incidents, internal/external recommendation
  • Metrics: Production of dashboards presenting key metrics on data risk management framework

· Under the direction of the Global CIB Data & Digital Office, Identification, qualification and prioritization of digital solutions for employees across APAC and collaboration with ITO for execution of digital working roadmap

Governance

  • Organization of the APAC Data Board chaired by APAC COO

· Coordinating the AI community, including expertise sharing & coordinating the APC CIB AI Catalysts network

  • APAC CIB AI & Data Analytics Oversight Committee chaired by APAC COO: validate Domains’ AI & Data Analytics priorities, validate overall CIB AI & Analytics budget, report on overall progress made on on-going projects (incl. escalation of key issues) and high-level pipeline, follow-up strategy plan
  • APAC Digital working and Digital Assets strategic committee chaired by APAC COO: Review Digital Working projects, digital assets steering and strategy, as well as project and IT assets portfolio management, prioritize pipeline and arbitrate when required.
  • Make sure all the elements and flows are recorded in data dictionary under IT Architecture governance
  • Articulation and coordination with LOD2, in particular with the APAC RISK Data Protection Officer
  • Contribution to CIB ICC: data & digital issues are escalated in CIB ICC each time relevant

Other contributions

  • Day-to-day advice to Business Lines / Functions around data problematics and risk assessments

· Advise on collaboration or engagements with Fintechs (that shall be supported by strong strategic rationales)

  • Leading/contributing to ad-hoc projects requiring data expertise
  • Contribution when needed to specific external/internal investigation or incident response related to data

What is required for you to succeed?

Domain

▪ 15 years of financial industry experience covering front to back banking processes and activities with exposure to IT, Operations, HR, Compliance, RISK and Project Management in these areas

▪ Strong data privacy, data protection or data management expertise

▪ Knowledge of BNP Paribas organization

▪ Practical knowledge of digital and artificial solutions

▪ Knowledge of main APAC regulatory requirements around data will be a plus

▪ Ability to interpret regulatory notices, guidelines or policies and map them with our framework is desirable

▪ Experience in representing a financial institution in discussions with external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, regulators and industry bodies)

▪ Ability to follow data feeds across organization to assess how processes & controls impact report production

▪ Good communication, problem solving and analytical skills - attention to details is important. Strong organization and multi-tasking skills. Flexibility to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines

▪ Strong interpersonal skills & ability to develop relationships internally and externally to collaborate effectively

▪ Ability to lead and influence stakeholders across the organization with proven experience of interaction with C-suite e.g. Territory CEOs/COOs, APAC CIO/CTO/CISO/Head of Operations

Required education/certification/licenses

▪ Master Degree or equivalent

▪ CSA professional certification or equivalent will be a plus
