Our client is a leading company in the logistics services sector.
About the role:
Collaborate regularly with Senior Operations Managers (SMOs) to assess service capacity at each depot and identify any underutilization.
Create and implement strategic sales initiatives for both current and prospective clients, tailored to each depot’s capacity, profitability, market conditions, and core service advantages.
Assist SMOs in analyzing and strengthening the client portfolio.
Maintain ongoing engagement with clients to anticipate their evolving needs and proactively propose value-driven solutions.
Research the market to identify growth opportunities and generate new leads.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers at existing and potential client organizations.
Develop tools for tracking customer satisfaction and implement common performance benchmarks (SLAs/KPIs) to demonstrate service quality.
Drive pricing discussions, leveraging industry knowledge to shape a competitive pricing model.
Respond promptly to commercial inquiries, including preparing and submitting quotations, while coordinating closely with SMOs and customer service teams.
Establish a reporting framework to monitor and evaluate sales activities and performance.
Set and achieve sales targets across various locations.
Contribute to the annual budgeting process using insights from customer trends, sales forecasts, and service demands.
Negotiate commercial agreements with clients, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company.
Review contractual terms, flag potential risks, and recommend mitigation plans.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and address disputes or issues as needed.
Keep abreast of industry changes, new technologies, and regulatory updates that may influence operations.
Provide strategic recommendations based on market intelligence and business insights.
Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team through coaching and mentorship.
Work cross-functionally with internal departments to guarantee timely and effective service delivery to clients.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership when necessary.
About you:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, preferably with a focus in logistics.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial roles within the tank container depot sector.
At least 5 years of proven leadership in sales or business development at a managerial level.
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of building customer relationships and driving business growth.
Deep knowledge of the tank container and depot industry.
Creative and forward-thinking, with demonstrated success in developing efficient sales strategies.
Effective leader with the ability to inspire and manage commercial teams.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market dynamics and identify opportunities across sites or regions.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing key business accounts.
Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50% of the time) for business needs.
